Flynn, Adams Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are soccer player Pat Flynn and tennis player Maddy Adams

Male Athlete of the Week

Pat Flynn, a sophomore from Naperville, Ill., scored three goals -- including both game-winners -- in a pair of victories last week. Flynn scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor Tuesday then scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Eastern Illinois. He broke a 1-1 tie with a header with just over 11 minutes left then added an insurance goal in the late stages of the contest.

Female Athlete of the Week

Maddy Adams, a freshman from Wexford, Pa., won the number-two singles flight championship at the BGSU Invitational. She defeated Toledo's Katelyn Nguyen in straight sets in the first round, then defeated IPFW's Carlota Trevino in a 10-point tiebreaker in the semifinals. In the championship against Cincinnati's Katya Bure, Adams dropped a narrow opening set but responded by winning the second set 6-2 and the 10-point tiebreak 10-5.
