Johnson, Fahey Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Matt Johnson and women's golfer Erin Fahey.

Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Johnson, a redshirt senior from Harrisburg, Pa., paced Bowling Green's offense on a record-setting day, leading BGSU football to a 62-38 win over UMass. Johnson passed for a Doyt L. Perry Stadium record 450 yards in the game, surpassing Ben Roethlisberger's previous record of 440 yards in 2003. Johnson was 33-of-39 with five passing touchdowns as BGSU totaled a school-record 725 yards and 515 passing yards.
Female Athlete of the Week
Erin Fahey, a freshman from Austin, Texas, earned her first career top-15 intercollegiate finish, shooting a team low 54-hole score of 233, +17 at the Rocket Classic at Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio. She tied for 13th place overall with rounds of 75, 76 and 82. It was Bowling Green's third top-four finish of the 2015 fall season as BGSU had rounds of 310, 321 and 311.
