Sean Walker Named Team's Top Defensive Player

Bowling Green, Ohio - Each year, the Bowling Green State University hockey program hands out a variety of postseason awards. For the first time this year, those award winners will be announced exclusively on BGSUFalcons.com. Listed below are each of the awards and the winners as they are unveiled over the next few weeks.

Today's winner of the Jim Ruehl Best Defensive Player Award is sophomore Sean Walker. While Walker had five goals and 15 assists on the season, he also recorded the team's second-best on-ice rating with a +10. He added 35 blocks for a defensive unit that was one of the pillars for success this year. BGSU allowed 2.38 goals per game and the penalty kill unit ranked second in the country at 89.8 percent.
