The student-athletes, in groups of two, will canvas various neighborhoods in BG. The players will be introducing themselves, handing out schedule magnets and encouraging the citizens of Bowling Green to come to Cochrane Stadium for one or more of the team's 2015 matches.
"The connection between our program and the community of Bowling Green is a special one," said head coach Eric Nichols. "The fan support we get at our games is a testament to that. But, I think we can take it to the next level. Our players and coaches will be going door to door to thank the fans who have supported us in the past, and invite new fans to join us Cochrane Stadium for a night of college soccer."
The players will hit the streets at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The team is in the midst of preparations for the 2015 season, which begins on Friday evening, Aug. 28, against SIUE at Cochrane Stadium. The complete 2015 schedule can be found by clicking here, and admission to all home BGSU soccer matches is free.
