Sullivan, a native of Naperville, Ill. (North H.S.), scored two goals as the Falcons posted a 3-2, come-from-behind win over IPFW Friday night (Sept. 18), in BG's lone game of the week. Sullivan's first goal of the night came in the 57th minute, tying the game at 1-1.
After IPFW retook the lead, the Falcons tied the contest in the 78th minute, and then Sullivan scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 81st minute, passing the ball to teammate and classmate Pat Flynn in the box, then receiving a nifty return pass and blasting the ball into the right side of the net.
For Sullivan, the two-goal game was his first of the season and the second of his BGSU career. He now has five goals and 13 points on the season, ranking second on the team in both categories. He now has a team-leading three game-winning goals, and ranks among the national leader in all three categories. Sullivan is second in the country in GWG, and ranks among the top-15 individuals in the nation in both goals and points.
Sullivan has matched his goal total for all of last year, and now has career totals of 12 goals, 11 assists and 35 points. Sullivan and the Falcons hit the road for this week's lone match, taking on the University of Dayton on Wednesday night (Sept. 23).
