The BGSU Hitting Clinic on Jan. 14 is open for high-school players age 14 and up. The clinic will offers player the opportunity to showcase their offensive skills in an exposure setting. Players will work directly with BGSU's experienced coaching staff and players to learn the offensive philosophy and approach at BGSU. Players will participate in a circuit that breaks down the swing from start to finish and go through drills and repetitions that increase their fundamentals, plate awareness, and overall mechanics.
The "Little Falcons" Softball Camp on the morning of Jan. 28 is for players from ages 8-13. This camp will break down the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, and hitting. Campers will experience one-on-one instructional breakdown from BGSU's experienced coaching staff and players, and fundamental drills aimed to improve the skill set of each participant will be conducted throughout the camp.
Later that same day. the BGSU Softball Winter Camp will be held for high-school players age 14 and up. This camp will provide players the opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive atmosphere. Players will participate in defensive and offensive drills that showcase their talent and increase their knowledge of the game. Players will work with our experienced coaching staff and players to gain a better understanding of BGSU Softball's approach and philosophy on both sides of the ball.
Defensively, players will be divided between catchers, infielders, and outfielders. Players will begin with fundamental drills and work their way into high-intensity repetitions used by BGSU Softball to enhance their skill level. The offensive portion will allow players to participate in repetitions and drills used by the BGSU Softball program to enhance fundamentals, plate awareness, and overall swing mechanics. The last portion of the camp will include a live game and team defense stations, with players having the opportunity to participate in both, and the camp will conclude with a Q&A session with our coaching staff and players.
