Men's Soccer to Offer a Full Slate of Camps in 2016
April 25, 2016 | Men's Soccer
Players of all ages and skill levels can find what they're looking for at BG
The Bowling Green State University men's soccer program will be offering a plethora of camps and tournaments in 2016. Players of all ages and skill levels can find what they are looking for in one or more of the events offered by head coach Eric Nichols and the Falcons.
"Through our camps and tournaments, we are able to bring soccer people together and expose them to our facilities and our coaching philosophies," said Nichols. "All in all, these events are great to grow soccer in our area and they are a ton of fun. Not to mention, these events allow us to work closely with players who might one day become collegiate or professional players."
The summer starts with the first of two ID Camps. ID camps are open to competitive high school aged players who have ambitions to play in college or beyond. These camps are four hours long and consist of...
1)Â training sessions,
2) 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 exercises,
3) Small sided 7v7 tournaments, and
4) full-sided 11v11 games.
It is a full day of soccer.
Next on the calendar is the fourth annual 4v4 Tournament in May. This is a boys-only tournament that has grown in numbers and level each year. Teams from around the state of Ohio, as well as Michigan and Indiana, have taken part in this one-day tournament over the first three years. It is a ton of fun.
The main event of the summer is the Falcons' Residential Camp. This camp is open to boys ages 10 and older, and all playing ranges. Some of the features of the camp are daily training sessions led by college coaches, an 11v11 full-sided tournament, all-star game, barefoot soccer, street soccer, and much more. Residential camp is an excellent way to immerse yourself into soccer with top notch Division 1 facilities, be coached by college coaches, and take your game to the next level.
And last but not least is our Youth Camp. This camp is unique in that our current players get involved as coaches. This allows for a special bonding to take place between our players and the campers. The BGSU players love it and the campers have a blast.
We are proud to say that a significant number of our past campers have gone on to play in college, and a handful have gone on to represent the Falcons.
The complete 2016 camp calendar is below. Links to the individual camps can be found in the above paragraphs as well as below, and a link to the program's overall camps page can be found HERE.
