Comes to BGSU from Canisius
Bowling Green State University women's basketball head coach Jennifer Roos has announced the addition of Nick Moore to her staff. Moore joins the Falcons after spending the last six seasons at Canisius College.
"Nick is one of the top young male assistant coaches in the women's basketball profession," said Roos. "Not only does he have a strong background in coaching, but he is very passionate about mentoring and teaching student-athletes. I have known him for several years and am confident he will bring a high level of character and professionalism to our program. Â He has been mentored most recently by Terry Zeh at Canisius, who I respect tremendously."
Moore, a native of Fredonia, N.Y., spent six years at Canisius under head coach Terry Zeh, the last five as assistant coach. In the 2015-16 season, he primarily worked with the team's post players while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program. He also served as recruiting coordinator in the 2015-16 season.
Moore worked with the team's guards in his first several years at Canisius, and his recruiting area included the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania during his entire tenure with the Golden Griffins.Â
"I want to thank Jennifer Roos and (BGSU Director of Athletics) Bob Moosbrugger for giving me this opportunity," said Moore. "History speaks for itself and the success of the BGSU women's basketball program is undeniable. I'm eager and excited to be a part of such a storied program with such an amazing and loyal fan base. I'm thrilled to join the Bowling Green team!"
During his first season at Canisius, in 2010-11, Moore served as the team's graduate student manager. He joined the Golden Griffins' staff in the summer of 2010 after graduating from SUNY Fredonia.
Moore spent two seasons at Fredonia as an assistant coach under head women's basketball coach Donna Wise. While with the Blue Devils, Moore was responsible for on-court coaching with the guards, as well as recruiting, and he also arranged the team's travel. Moore coached all-conference players in each of his two seasons on the staff, and helped Fredonia reach the SUNYAC playoffs in 2010.
Moore worked with current BGSU assistant coach Jacey Brooks during his first three years at Canisius.
Moore graduated from Fredonia in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He earned his Master's degree in sport administration at Canisius in 2015.
