Narro Tabbed a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars Named
Norman, Oklahoma – BGSU rising senior golfer Jose Narro was recognized as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for the 2015-16 season. Narro was one of 212 players in all of NCAA Division I men's golf to receive the honor.
Named to the 2015-16 Academic All-MAC Team, Narro posted a stroke average of 73.75 over 32 rounds of play on the year, which ranked 11th in the MAC overall in 2015-16. His stroke average of 73.75 on the year ranks as the 10th best single season stroke average by a Falcon in BGSU men's golf history. He also set the BGSU men's golf record with a 54-hole score of 202, -11 under par, at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
During his junior year, Narro played in all 11 events for the Falcons at the No. 1 position. He carded seven sub-par rounds of golf on the year for the Falcons, including rounds of 66, 67, 68, 68 and 69, and was the top-Falcon golfer five times. Overall, the Tampico, Mexico native recorded five top-25 place finishes, including a third-place at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational with a score of 202, -11 under par. He also placed in a tie for sixth at the Tucker Intercollegiate with a score of 213, -3 under par, finished in a tie for 14th at the Cleveland State Invitational and turned in a 21st-place finish at the Colleton River Collegiate event with a score of 227, +11. Narro also placed in a tie for 24th at the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational with a score of 219, +9, and in a tie for 26th with a 54-hole score of 226, +10, at the Lone Star Invitational.
Narro is the Falcons' first GCAA All-America Scholar since Craig Pickerel was tabbed an NGCA All-America Scholar in back-to-back years in 2004 and 2005.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
