Bowling Green, Ohio – The Rimington Trophy Committee has released its 2016 Fall Watch List and redshirt junior Tim McAuliffe is one of two Mid-American Conference centers recognized. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the Most Outstanding Center in FBS College Football. McAuliffe was also named to the spring Rimington Trophy Watch List in May.
McAuliffe has started 27 games over the past two seasons and is the centerpiece of the most experienced offensive line in FBS Football. Bowling Green returns offensive linemen who have combined for 140 career starts, the most in the country.
A year ago, McAuliffe played in and started 13 games, starring on an offensive line that helped BGSU set new school records in points scored (591), first downs (389), passing yards (5,135) and total yardage (7,655). He blocked for MAC Offensive Player of the Year Matt Johnson and was a key cog that blocked as Travis Greene set BGSU's career rushing mark. The Falcons averaged a MAC-best 366.8 yards through the air and also rushed for 180.0 yards per game, setting a new school record with 81 offensive touchdowns.
BGSU has advanced to three consecutive MAC Championship games, defeating Northern Illinois in the championship contest in both 2013 and 2015. The 2014 team went on to win the inaugural Raycom Media Camellia Bowl and the program has won 18 games in McAuliffe's two seasons in the starting lineup. The Falcons have three wins over Big Ten opponents, two on the road, and are 10-0 against MAC East teams during that timeframe and have won 16 straight against divisional foes dating back to 2012.
Since its inception, the Rimington Trophy has raised over $2.6 million for the cystic fibrosis community. The award is overseen by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and has raised over $120 million for the fight against cystic fibrosis.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only double winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
McAuliffe is the second Falcon named to a fall watch list, joining redshirt junior Austin Valdez, who was named to the Bednarik Award Watch List Tuesday.

Season tickets are on sale now for the 2016 BGSU Football Season. The three-time defending MAC East Champions will look to make another trip to Detroit to compete in the ultimate game of #MACtion. Bowling Green opens the season at Ohio State Sept. 3 before hosting both North Dakota and Middle Tennessee State in non-conference home games. In total, the Falcons will play six games inside renovated Doyt Perry Stadium for the 50th anniversary of the The Doyt. Buy your season tickets today by CLICKING HERE!
