BGSU's four game dates include three doubleheaders at Meserve Field
Bowling Green State University softball coach Sarah Willis has announced her team's fall schedule. The Falcons' four competition dates include three doubleheaders at Meserve Field.
BGSU's FALL 2016 SCHEDULE
"Our individual and small-group workouts have been progressing nicely, and the team has been working hard," said Willis. "We are excited to utilize the fall competitions to evaluate our team and give us valuable in-game experience."
The Falcons will begin the fall slate with a pair of games at the 16th annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic in Columbus on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event is one of the largest fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in central Ohio.
In that tourney, BGSU will take on Northern Kentucky in a 3:00 p.m. start, then turn around and play Ohio Valley immediately after. The latter game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start at Fred Beekman Park in Columbus, Ohio.
The next day, Willis and the Falcons will play the first of three noon doubleheaders in as many weekends at Meserve Field. On Sunday, Sept. 25, the Brown and Orange will face Findlay in a pair of contests.
The next weekend, arch-rival Toledo will make the short trip south for a Sunday (Oct. 2) twinbill. The Falcons will close the fall schedule with a DH vs. Tiffin on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Willis, who is entering her second year with the Falcons, has 14 returnees from last season on the 2016-17 roster, and has added six newcomers, including a pair of Division-I transfers. Four freshmen have joined the program for the '16-17 academic year.
