Bridgeport, WV – The Bowling Green State University Falcons come home with the title from the 2017 Mountaineer Intercollegiate Invitational. The Falcons carded an 864, E (290, 287, 287) taking the lead by a close two strokes over the invitational host, West Virginia. Junior, Max Rispler heads off the team ending the weekend placed in seventh carding 214, -2 (72, 72, 70). Bowling Green carries away it's first victory since the MAC Match Play in February, 2013. 16 teams competed in the Mountaineer Intercollegiate with a total of 84 athletes.

Fresh off the win in West Virginia, the Falcons head to Duluth, GA this upcoming Monday, October 16 and 17 to compete in the Autotrader Collegiate Classic hosted by the Georgia State Panthers and held at Berkeley Hills Country Club.

- The Falcons passed Rutgers University who held first place through the second round of play. Rutgers finished overall in third with 868, +4 (282, 298, 288)
- Other teams in the MAC include Akron placing in eighth with 883, +11 (292, 292, 299) and Ohio coming in 13th with 907, +43 (308, 301, 298)
- The Falcon's 864 score ties for the 11th best score in program history

INDIVIDUAL BREAKDOWNÂ
- All five Falcons finished strong while two shot under par, Max Rispler and Pablo Heredia Iglesias
- Rispler lead the Falcons in seventh place shooting two under par overall and completing the weekend with 10 birdies over three rounds and eight bogies
- Following closely behind, Pablo Heredia Iglesias finished tied in eighth place with 11 birdies on the weekend
- Freshman, Rodrigue Vie finished the weekend strong tied for 19th
- Vie led the meet in first place during the second round with 11 birdies through the second round and 13 overall
- Trey Walker tremendously improved from the start of the season and finished tied in 27th
- Senior, Mitchell Kontak rounds out the Falcons tied for 54th
