ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Bowling Green tennis program added three wins in the second day of the ITA Midwest Regionals, as sophomore Marharita-Sophia Tavpash advances from the Singles Qualifying Draw to the Main Draw, while the pairing of Paula Comella and Marta Bettinelli will compete in the Top-16 of the Doubles Main Draw.

Day Two Highlights

Over the course of the two days of the tournament thus far, the Falcons have picked up a total of eight wins, including six in singles and two in doubles action.
With her third win of the tournament, sophomore Marharita-Sophia Tavpash will advance to the Singles Main Draw, joining teammate Paula Comella. Tavpash's third win came in a 6-1, 7-5 final over Veronika Golanova (Illinois State) to advance with three-straight wins from the original pool of 64.
The pairing of Paula Comella and teammate Marta Bettinelli advanced from the pool of 64 to the Top-16 by a strong 8-6 win over Kuzmenkova / Jovicic (DePaul) in the morning, followed by a walk off of seeded Duong / Tapak (Illinois).
The Falcons also had two more doubles-pairings compete in the ITA Regionals, including Marharita-Sophia Tavpash / Vanesa Pardo and Polina Radeva / Ayumi Sasaki.

The pairing of Paula Comella / Marta Bettinelli will compete in the Top-16 of the Doubles Main Draw against No. 3 seed Broda / Miller (Notre Dame) beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The Singles Main Draw will feature Paula Comella vs. Maria Tyrina (Ohio State), while Marharita-Sophia Tavpash will face off against Cameron Corse (Notre Dame) on Saturday, Oct. 14, following the first two rounds of doubles competition.
