Volleyball's Homecoming Crowd Treated to 3-0 Sweep

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – In a dominate 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-10) sweep on homecoming, the Bowling Green volleyball program (11-8, 7-1 MAC) extended its win streak to seven by downing Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan (10-10, 2-6 MAC) at home.

- The Bowling Green volleyball program is now on a seven-match win streak, the longest since Sept. 9-17, 2016. With a 7-1 Mid-American Conference record, the Falcons also continue to lead the league outright.
- On the night, sophomore Jessi Holly led the Bowling Green squad with 10 kills, making it the third double-digit kill performance of the season for the Upper Sandusky, Ohio native. In addition to her offensive game, Holly also tallied eight digs and four blocks.
- At the net, the Falcons posted a total of 16.0 team blocks on the night, which ties their season-high (16.0 at Kent State, Sept. 29). Leading the Bowling Green squad again was freshman Katie Kidwell, who posted one solo block and nine block assists for a total of 10.0 against the Chippewas. The mark is just one shy of her career-best of 11.0 blocks, set at Kent State (Sept. 29).
- The Falcons showcased a clean offense that only sacrificed eight attacking errors, a new season-best by three, while as a team, Bowling Green also posted a .260 percentage on the attack.
- Strong contributors to the Falcon offense included sophomore Celena Kanagin, who tallied seven kills while hitting a team-high of .368, in addition to senior Nicole Slimko, who earned eight kills while hitting .304.
- At the line, sophomore Paulina Iacobelli notched five of the Falcons six service aces, which ties her career-best mark (5 at Ohio, Sept. 30).
- A pair of Falcons earned double-digit digs as junior libero Kallie Seimet tallied a team-high of 17, while Iacobelli posted 13 for her eighth straight double-digit dig performance.
- The Falcons won the first and third games outright with no lead changes or tie scores, including a 6-1 start in the decisive third set.
- Over the course of the three sets, the Falcons held the advantage in kills (35-28), hitting percentage (.260-.018), assists (32-28), service aces (6-1), and total team blocks (16.0-3.0).

- The Falcons will be back in action next Friday, Oct. 20 when it travels to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State at 7 p.m. Bowling Green will then face Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 21 in the Battle of I-75, in a 5:30 p.m. first serve on the road.
