Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will begin its annual Falcons Fighting Hunger campaign Wednesday night as the Falcons host Toledo in Doyt L. Perry Stadium at 8 pm. SAAC will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items, which will be donated directly to a community kitchen in Bowling Green.
"Falcons Fighting Hunger is a tradition we're trying to start within athletics and we think it is a great way to engage the Bowling Green community, while also helping those less fortunate," men's cross country runner and SAAC President Kohl Taberner said.
Fans who donate an item will receive a discount ticket voucher to a future BGSU Athletics event as well.
"I am very excited about the new and improved Falcons Fighting Hunger event," volleyball player and SAAC Vice President Macie Linne said. "It's a great opportunity for student-athletes to make a positive change within our community by coming together to tackle and issue that will benefit a lot of people."
