Caldwell Named MAC East Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Rodrick Caldwell, a sophomore guard on the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, was named the MAC East Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Nov. 27) morning.
The Dayton, Ohio native led the Falcons to a 3-1 record last week. For the week, Caldwell averaged 20.3 points, 6.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds. He shot 52.1 percent (25-of-48) from the field, an absurd 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from downtown, and 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the free throw line.
Caldwell capped his week with consecutive 20-plus point games, setting his career high in points in both contests. Caldwell started the week with 18 points, and a career-high eight assists in a win over Lake Erie. He then racked up 18 points and seven assists in a victory over USC Upstate, before posting 20 points, five assists, and three rebounds in a win at Campbell.
In Sunday's game versus Abilene Christian, Caldwell scored a career-high 25 points, tied his career high with six rebounds, while also dishing out four assists. Caldwell hit a career-high six triples versus Abilene Christian, as he went 6-for-9 from downtown.
For the season, Caldwell is averaging 15.7 points, 3.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals. He's shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 43.2 percent from three-point territory, and 76.5 percent from the free throw line. Caldwell and the Falcons host San Jose State on Wednesday (Nov. 29) at 7 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
