Fahey Claims Top Finish at DFW Collegiate Open

FLOWER MOUND, Texas – Sophomore Erin Fahey of the Bowling Green women's golf program recently claimed the tournament title at the DFW Collegiate Open on June 7-8 by a below par 54-hole score of 212, -4.
The native of Austin, Texas excelled in individual play by opening with a low round of 67 at the par-72, 6,061 yard Bridlewood Golf Club. Fahey finished below par again in the second round by a score of 70, prior to closing out the final 18 holes with a score of 75.
Fahey registered five birdies in each of the first two rounds, and completed the tournament with a total of 13 birdies in addition to 33 par scores. In her standout first round on the course, Fahey finished without any bogeys by a combination of five birdies and 13 par scores on her way to a score of 67.
The DFW Collegiate Open is a two-day competition in conjunction with the Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour. The Tour provides world amateur ranked summer and holiday tournaments for collegiate, amateur, graduating high school seniors as well as select elite junior players on PGA Tour, Q-School and NCAA Championship venues.
