Schaub, Walny Named Jet's Pizza Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's soccer player Tate Robertson and volleyball player Kallie Seimet.
Male Athlete of the Week
Noah Schaub, a junior from Uniontown, Ohio, finished ninth overall in a field of 364 to cross the finish line at the Spartan Invite. He was the first Mid-American Conference male runner to finish at the Spartan Invite, completing the 8K race in 25:21.6. The 8K time was a personal best for Schaub, breaking his previous record of 25:36.7.
Female Athlete of the Week
Rachel Walny, a redshirt junior from Clinton Township, Mich. won the Spartan Invitational over 289 other runners in a field of 33 teams, including four MAC schools. She had a 6K time of 21:19.0. Previously, she finished third at the event in 2015, recording a time of 21:26. The invite was Walny's first race since the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships last season.
