Craggs, East Named Jet's Pizza Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey's Lucas Craggs and gymnast Jovannah East.
Male Athlete of the Week
Lukas Craggs, a sophomore from Elmhurst, Ill., was named Most Valuable Player of the Great Lakes Invitational and led BGSU hockey to a 4-0 week. He had five points in wins over Michigan and Michigan Tech at the GLI and then added three more points in a weekend sweep at Ferris State. Craggs posted two goals and an assist in a 6-4 win over Michigan to vault the Falcons to the championship game of the GLI, where he added two more assists in a 4-1 win vs. Michigan Tech. He had a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win at Ferris State and then added another goal in the 3-0 shutout Sunday. He had 12 shots and was +6 on-ice during the week.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jovannah East, a sophomore from Zion, Ill., led the Falcons to a 194.000-193.350 win at Michigan State to open the 2018 season. She won the vault with a 9.850 and added scores of 9.800 on the floor and 9.750 on the beam. It was BGSU's third-highest season-opening team score in school history and the first win to open the season since 2015. East has now recorded a victory in 10 of her 14 career meets for a total of 13 event wins. In addition, East has earned a 9.800 or above in 30 of her 35 career events and has posted 9.800 or above in multiple events during 11 of her 14 career meets.
