Schaub, Walny Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are cross country runners Noah Schaub and Rachel Walny.

Male Athlete of the Week
Noah Schaub, a senior from Uniontown, Ohio, was the first Falcon across the finish line, crossing in 13th out of the 252 participants at the Louisville Cross Country Classic. With a time of 24:06.4, Schaub recorded a new personal best in the 8k, beating his previous time by 11 seconds. Schaub has been the first of the team to finish in all of the Falcons' races this year.

Female Athlete of the Week
Rachel Walny, a senior from Clinton Township, Mich., broke the school record for the 5k once again. With a sixth place finish, out of 226 runners at the Louisville Cross Country Classic, and a time of 16:58.0, Walny was able to shatter the record for the fourth time in her collegiate career, and the second time this season.
