It marks the second consecutive week that the Falcons swept the MAC honors. Last Tuesday (Sept. 25), juniors Chelsee Washington and Kathleen Duwve earned the league's Offensive and Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors, respectively..
The MAC award was the second honor of the day for Kennedy. On Tuesday morning, she was one of 11 players nationally to be named to the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Team of the Week.
Â
Erica Hubert
Hubert, a native of Welland, Ontario (E.L. Crossley), had four points and was a disruptive force to BG opponents all weekend as the Falcons downed Northern Illinois and Western Michigan to improve to 4-0-0 in the MAC for the first time in program history.
Hubert assisted on the Falcons' second goal of the night vs. NIU on Friday (Sept. 28), as BGSU scored three times in the first half en route to a 3-0 victory. Then, in a matchup of the only two remaining MAC unbeatens, Hubert was involved in the scoring of both goals, with a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win vs. WMU on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 30).
The assist came on what proved to be the winning goal in the 78th minute of play. She headed down the left side of the pitch, blowing by a defender in the process, took the ball to the end line and hit a cross into the box that was converted by Washington. Hubert capped the scoring in the final minutes, racing past a defender to reach a long ball forward, then tapping it past the WMU 'keeper with the outside of her foot to seal the win.
On the season, Hubert is tied for the team lead in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17). She has career totals of 33 goals, 10 assists and 76 points, ranking second on the BG career lists in both goals and points. Hubert has a total of seven points in the last three matches, and she has 14 points over the last six contests.

Maureen Kennedy
Kennedy, a native of Cypress, Calif. (Los Alamitos), scored three points and helped the Falcons to a pair of shutout wins on the weekend. Kennedy recorded the Falcons' second goal of the night vs. Northern, then helped BG keep yet another clean sheet while assisting on Hubert's clinching goal in the win over Western.
Kennedy has been a key performer at both ends of the pitch. BGSU has outscored opponents, 10-0, in MAC play, and Kennedy has been involved in the scoring of four of BG's 10 goals (one goal, three assists), while keeping the opponents off the scoreboard during those 360 minutes. Last weekend, the Falcon defense allowed the opponents just 17 total shots, and only eight on goal, in 180 minutes of action.
On the year, Kennedy has nine points on two goals and five assists. She now has career totals of seven goals, 19 assists and 33 points. Just a junior, she already ranks fifth in school history in career assists.
Kennedy has a five-game point-scoring streak, with a goal and five assists as BGSU has gone 5-0-0 during that time. BGSU has tied the school record for consecutive shutouts, with five. The Falcons have not allowed a goal in 451:54, the second-longest shutout streak in program history.
BGSUÂ faces two more tough tests this week, heading to Mount Pleasant, Mich., for a Thursday night (Oct. 4) matchup with Central Michigan, before returning home to meet Eastern Michigan on Sunday (Oct. 7) at Cochrane Stadiuim. Thursday's match at CMU begins at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday's EMU contest starts at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free to all BGSUÂ regular-season home soccer action.
