Falcons Finish Fall Season Strong At Muskies Classic

Kettering, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Men's Golf team wrapped up its 2018 fall campaign after finishing the Muskies Classic Tuesday (Oct. 23) in sixth place.Â
With the sixth place finish, the Falcons finished no worse than seventh in their five events this fall, including a third place finish at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational in September.Â
Ohio State (851) won the two event with Ball State (869) and Northern Kentucky (876) finishing in second and third, respectively.Â
After shooting 303 in the second round, the Falcons quickly bounced back with a 285 in the third round, which was the second best third round score behind Ohio State (282), who won the tournament. Four out of the five Falcons in the starting lineup finished with a 72 or better on the final round.
Rodrigue Vie and Pablo Heredia Iglesias were the top two Falcons for the event where Vie shot a 72 in the third round to place him T12 on the individual leaderboard. Iglesias, who finished no worse than 20th at any event in the fall season, shot a 70 to climb back up and finish T16.Â
Nick Hofland and Max Rispler were both steady for the Falcons with Hofland, who played as an individual, shooting a 71 on the final day, which was good for T23. Rispler carded a 72 placing him at T27.Â
Trey Walker finished T32 shooting a 71 in the final round and Noah Firestone shot a 77 placing him at T49 for the tournament. Curtis Hughes played as an individual and finished T55 also shooting a 77 on the final day.Â
