BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season with a 91-52 victory over Tiffin University on Tuesday (Nov. 6) night at the Stroh Center. A total of 12 Falcons scored on the night, while all 14 players on the roster saw action. BGSU turned a 25-point halftime lead into a 39-point victory.
QUOTE OF THE GAME
"I thought it was a good defensive game by our guys," said head coach Michael Huger. "We stuck together, and were able to get stops, and get out in transition. That was the key. I was focused on how well we could play defense. No let ups – that was the biggest thing. I didn't want to have any let ups, and not playing the opponent, and just playing against what we do. That's what we did today, and I thought that was the difference for us."

• Tiffin played powerhouse Butler University in an exhibition Oct. 28. BGSU beat Tiffin by two more points than Butler did.
PLAYER NOTES
• Sophomore guard Dylan Frye led all scorers with 20 points, marking the eighth 20-point game of his career. Frye, who went 4-for-7 from downtown, has now made multiple triples in 29 games across his career.
• Redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner poured in 16 points, to go along with five rebounds and two assists. Turner has scored in double figures a total of 27 times as a Falcon.
• Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, earning the 23rd double-double of his career. Wiggins has posted a double-double in eight of his last nine games dating back to the 2017-18 season.
• Junior guard Michael Laster came off the bench and finished the game with nine points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in 16 minutes.
• Redshirt-senior forward Jeffrey Uju registered seven points on perfect 3-of-3 shooting. Uju tied a career-high with 10 rebounds.
• Sophomore forward Daeqwon Plowden collected seven points and two rebounds.
• Senior guard Antwon Lillard added six points, four assists three rebounds.
• Freshman center Tayler Mattos gave the Falcons four points and nine rebounds off the bench. Fellow freshman Caleb Fields also scored four points.
