"We're looking forward to getting the spring schedule underway," said Nichols. "Our spring roster is a little smaller this year than usual, which will give all of our guys the chance to get plenty of quality game minutes.
"Now that spring break is over, we are back at work, and we look forward to a few week of hard training before we face Detroit Mercy in our first match of the spring."
The Falcons open the spring slate with a late-night match vs. UDM on Thursday, March 29. BGSU also meets Tiffin (April 8), Saginaw Valley State (April 14), Ashland (April 17) and Dayton (April 20) at Cochrane Stadium, before welcoming a veritable plethora of former BGSU men's soccer greats back to town on Saturday, April 21, for the team's annual Alumni Match.Â
"We'll be using these games to develop chemistry and hone in on the style of play we will want to implement in the fall," said Nichols.
BGSU finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 7-9-1. Five of the team's losses came by one goal on the road to nationally-ranked opponents. Nichols and his staff had seven seniors on the '17 roster.
