Tennis Continues Undefeated Streak at Home with 4-3 Win over Wright State

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's tennis program (8-5) remains undefeated at home as it downed Wright State (9-9) on Saturday afternoon at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. The Falcons picked up four singles wins in addition to one doubles victory on its way to a 4-3 win over the Raiders.

Statistical Standouts
- The pairing of junior Polina Radeva and sophomore Ayumi Sasaki improved to an 8-4 record on the season when it downed its Wright State opponent 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
- Junior Paula Comella improved her team-leading record to 10-2 when she earned a point for the Falcons with straight set wins of 6-2, 6-1 against the Raiders.
- Now on a two-match win streak, Radeva earned two points on the day when she led outright in singles play for set wins of 6-2, 6-3.
- After earning a first set win of 6-3, sophomore Marharita-Sophia Tavpash faced a third set against her Wright State opponent after dropping the second set 6-4. The Lviv, Ukraine native led outright after going up 1-0 for an eventual 6-1 victory and point for the Bowling Green squad.
- Earning her fourth victory of the 2018 season was freshman Marta Bettinelli as she earned a straight set win of 6-3, 6-2. A native of Milan, Italy, Bettinelli rebounded from being down 0-1 in the second set to seal her two-set win.

- "I'm proud of this group for finding their way through singles after losing the doubles point today. We're happy to still be undefeated at home and will work and focus on the beginning of MAC season next weekend."

- The Bowling Green tennis program will be back in action this Friday, March 23 when it travels to Rockford, Ill. to open Mid-American Conference play at Northern Illinois. First serve is set for 1 p.m. against the Huskies.
