Brooke Parker Named MAC Pitcher of the Week

Junior allows just eight hits in two complete-game efforts over the weekend
Bowling Green State University softball standout Brooke Parker has been named Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week. The weekly awards were announced by the conference office late Tuesday morning (March 20).
Parker earns league weekly honors for the first time in her BGSUÂ career.

Parker, a native of Batavia, Ohio (Glen Este), allowed only eight total hits in a pair of complete-game performances over the weekend. Parker went 1-1 with a 2.69 earned-run average on the team's trip to Nashville, Tenn.
Parker began her weekend by surrendering only three hits against Lipscomb, a team receiving votes in one of last week's national top-25 polls, but gave up three runs to suffer the loss to the Lady Bisons. The next day, she allowed two earned runs and five hits in a complete-game victory over IUPUI. Parker allowed opponents to bat just .170 against her on the weekend.
On the season, Parker is 7-5 with an ERA of 2.91. She has matched her win total for all of last season.
Parker earned the MAC's Pitcher-of-the-Week award for the East Division. Miami's Megan Wurts was named the MAC Player of the Week in the East, while Ball State's Maddy Labrador and Toledo's Heather Webb earned Player- and Pitcher-of-the-Week honors, respectively, for the West Division.
The Falcons, 16-10 on the season, are scheduled to begin a seven-game homestand this weekend. BGSU will meet Ball State in a Friday (March 23) single game, beginning at 3:00 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Saturday (March 24) doubleheader at Meserve Field. Admission is free to all BGSUÂ home softball games.
