Schaub, Kovacic Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's cross country runner Noah Schaub and volleyball player Isabel Kovacic
Male Athlete of the Week
At the Toledo Rockets Invitational, Noah Schaub, a senior from Uniontown, Ohio, placed second individually with a time of 18:46.4, edging the third place finisher by 1.3 seconds. The meet had 62 participants and Schaub was near the front for the entire race. He was able to improve on his fourth place finish at the event two years ago. As a team, the Falcons finished in third.
Female Athlete of the Week
Isabel Kovacic, a senior from Zadar, Croatia, was named the Duquesne Tournament Most Valuable Player, as the Falcons went 2-1 on the weekend to win the tournament. Over the three-game tournament, Kovacic posted 37 kills, and averaged 3.08 kills per set and 3.67 points per set. In a five-set match at Duquesne, the senior posted 14 kills and hit .357. Later that afternoon in sweep over Youngstown State, Kovacic racked up 16 kills and hit .286. Kovacic also averaged 1.17 blocks per set.
