Vie, Washington Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are golfer Rodrigue Vie and women's soccer player Chelsee Washington.

Male Athlete of the Week
Rodrigue Vie, a junior from Epinal, France, won the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, posting a score of -8 (67-69-69). Finishing first among 78 golfers, he is the first individual tournament champion at BGSU since 2015. His score was just hree strokes shy of the program record of 202, set by Jose Narro in 2015. Vie helped the team win the tournament with a final score of -15 (837). That score was just five strokes shy of the program record, set in 2010.

Female Athlete of the Week

Chelsee Washington, a senior from Carrollton, Texas, had five points, including a pair of goals during the week. Both of her goals came in the 90th minute of the match or later. Against Central Michigan, she scored with 35 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. On Sunday, she scored the winning goal in overtime for a 2-1 victory over Eastern Michigan. It was her second 'Golden Goal' of the 2019 season.
