Falcons Picked To Win MAC In League Preseason Poll; Turner And Frye Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference men's basketball preseason poll was released on Thursday (Oct. 31) afternoon. The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team was picked to finish first in the MAC East. The 2019-20 Falcons were also selected as the favorites to win the MAC Tournament.
Additionally, guards Justin Turner and Dylan Frye earned spots on the preseason All-MAC East squad. The five-man team also includes Miami's Nike Sibande, Buffalo's Jayvon Graves and Kent State's Phillip Whittington.

The Falcons received six of the 12 votes to win the MAC Tournament. Toledo picked up two votes, while Buffalo, Kent State, Miami and Northern Illinois were given one vote apiece.
Within the MAC East, Bowling Green picked up 69 points, and nine of the 12 first-place votes. Buffalo is next in line, as the Bulls were given three first-place votes and 58 total points. The entire preseason poll can be viewed below.
Bowling Green opens up the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. The Falcons will take on Tiffin University at the Stroh Center. The Falcons return four starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's 22-win team that reached the MAC Championship Game for just the fourth time in school history.
