Dylan Frye Named MAC East Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Dylan Frye, a senior guard on the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week. The league office announced the news on Monday (Nov. 25) afternoon.

Frye led Bowling Green to a 2-0 week, as the Falcons picked up wins over Western Kentucky and Cincinnati to advance to tonight's Paradise Jam Championship Game. In BGSU's two games at the event thus far, Frye is averaging 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists – all while shooting 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from downtown.

For the first time in the Kenpom.com Era (2002), Bowling Green has won consecutive games against Top-85 opponents. After knocking off Western Kentucky (83) on Nov. 22, the Falcons defeated Cincinnati (31) on Nov. 24.

Following a 19-point effort in the Falcons' win over WKU, Frye had a career night in the victory over Cincinnati. The Miami native tied his career high with 28 points. He also had a career-high nine rebounds, and a season-high six assists.

Bowling Green will take on Nevada tonight in the Paradise Jam Championship Game. Tip is slated for 8 p.m. EST.

• With his 28 points, Frye moved up four spots on BGSU's all-time scoring list. Frye now ranks 30th all-time. Frye surpassed Martin Samarco (2005-07 | 1,151), Spencer Parker (2012-16 | 1,160), Rich Walker (1968-71 | 1,167), and Joe Moore (1987-91 | 1,168). Frye has scored 1,178 points in 103 career games.
• By drilling three triples, Frye surpassed Falcon legend Jay Larranaga (1993-97 | 195) for third all-time on BGSU's career three-point field goals list. Frye has made 197 treys, and needs just 32 more three-pointers to break the Bowling Green career record. He sits behind Keith McLeod (1998-2002 | 199) and John Reimold (2002-05 | 228).
