Plowden Named MAC East Co-Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Daeqwon Plowden, a junior forward on the BGSU men's basketball team, was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Player of the Week. The league office announced the news on Monday (Dec. 16) afternoon.
Plowden led the Falcons to a 72-58 win over Cleveland State on Sunday (Dec. 15) evening at the Stroh Center. For the second-straight contest, Plowden tied a career high with 23 points. The junior was unbelievably efficient from the floor, as he went 11-of-13 (84.6 percent), including a 1-for-2 mark from downtown. His career-high 11 field goals surpassed his previous career high by two buckets. Plowden posted four rebounds, two steals and two blocks, as well.
The native of Philadelphia has been one of the best players in the country as of late. Over his last two games, he is 20-of-26 (76.9 percent) from the field. In BG's three-point win over Oakland on Dec. 7, Plowden recorded the third double-double of his career, as he finished with 10 rebounds and 23 points. Plowden also made a career-high three triples, as he went 3-for-4 from downtown.
The pair of 23-point games marked the first two games in Plowden's career with at least 20 points. The Falcons, 8-2 and winners of three straight, head to Atlantic City this week to part take in the Boardwalk Battle. BGSU opens with a 7 p.m. contest versus Norfolk State on Dec. 20. The following day, the Falcons will play either Drexel or Quinnipiac.
