Falcons In Position To Move Up Leaderboard At Shoal Creek Invitational

BGSU looks to climb up leaderboard after steady first day in loaded field

Shoal Creek, Alabama – The BGSU Men's Golf team finished their first day of the Shoal Creek Invitational where they currently sit T7th in an elite playing field. Play was shortened after tee times were pushed back due to the course condition after rain on Sunday. Play was suspended due to darkness at 7:15 p.m. CT with four players left to finish their first round.

Four of the seven teams that are currently ahead of BGSU rank within Golfstat's top 25 teams in Alabama, LSU, North Florida and Tennessee who is currently tied with BGSU. The Falcons currently sit third among all the teams in the tournament with an impressive score of -8 on Par 5s.

The Falcons played fairly consistent throughout the day in a field that is scattered with individuals that rank within Golfstat's top 100 individual players in the country. Pablo Heredia Iglesias is the current top Falcon after shooting an even score of 72 and currently sitting T16 out of the 87 total golfers in the tournament. Noah Firestone, who had 14 pars in round one, is T29 after shooting a 74 and finished at +2. Nick Hofland shot an opening round score of 76 to sit at T44 at +4. Rodrigue Vie, who leads the Falcons in birdies at 5, is T54 at +5 and Trey Walker is T64 at +6.
