April 27, 2019 | Men's Golf
A crowded middle of the leaderboard leads BGSU in position to move up Sunday
Aurora, Ohio – The BGSU Men's Golf team finished the first round of the MAC Men's Golf Championships after the first and second rounds were suspended yesterday due to rain. The Falcons currently sit in 5th place in a crowded middle of the leaderboard with the difference between third and ninth place being 12 strokes.Â
Overall the Falcons led a balanced approach on Saturday with three of the five Falcons finishing within the top 22 including Rodrigue Vie, Noah Firestone and Pablo Heredia Iglesias. Trey Walker, T29th, and Nick Hofland, T31st, finished just outside that line. The Falcons 4.19 scoring average on Par 4s is a big reason why they sit in contention on Sunday which ranks third among all teams. Among the individual stats leaders includes Rodrigue Vie with 27 pars, tied for first among all players, and Noah Firestone who leads BGSU with seven birdies.Â
Kent State and Eastern Michigan are knotted together at the top, with a plethora of teams battling for third place with Toledo currently in the lead respectively. The Falcons are set to be apart of the first group to tee off tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.Â
