May 08, 2019 | General, Women's Swimming & Diving, Women's Track and Field
Cleveland, Ohio – Three members of the Bowling Green State University indoor track and field team and one member of the swimming & diving program were named Mid-American Conference Distinguished Scholar-Athletes for the winter season.
The conference's Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) vote for Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, who must have competed in at least 50 percent of their fall sport competitions and maintain a 3.50 grade point average or higher. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Aliyah Gustafson earned her fourth MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete award of her career. With three team members named, the indoor track & field team was tied for the second most in the conference.
Rachel Walny earned the award for the third time in her career and Allison Holahan was named for the first time among track & field members.
In swimming & diving, Talisa Lemke earned the award for the second time in her career. She won the MAC Championship in both diving events earlier this year and was one of only two Distinguished Scholar-Athletes in women's swimming & diving with a 4.00 grade point average.
