
Fantastic Relay And Dive Performances Give Falcons Runner-Up Finish In Florida

Miami, Fla. – The Bowling Green State University swim and dive team opened the 2020 portion of their season with a runner-up finish at the Florida International University Relay Invitational. Each of the 15 Falcon relay teams finished fifth or higher, helping them place second among eight teams. The 300-yard backstroke trio of Daisy Platts, Lauren Sullivan, and Sarah Fergus won first place with a time of 2:56.41. Six Falcon relay teams took second place and two relay teams took third.
The BGSU divers also competed on the 1-meter board. A quartet of divers compiled 65 points, taking four of the top five spots on the leaderboard. Senior Talisa Lemke scored a 325.58 to secure first place, 7th individual victory of the season. The Falcons totaled 547 team points, just three points behind first-place Fordham, and 149 points ahead of third-place York.

The Falcons will compete at home for the first time since Nov. 9 when they host Davenport for a dual on Friday, Jan. 17. The meet will begin at Cooper Pool at 5 p.m. BGSU will host conference opponent Miami the following afternoon (Saturday, Jan. 18), with a dual starting at 1 p.m. As always, admission will be free!
