Richaun Holmes Day Set For Jan. 21 Men’s Basketball Game Versus Eastern Michigan

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Sacramento Kings forward Richaun Holmes, who starred on the BGSU men's basketball team from 2012-15, is coming back to Bowling Green. Richaun Holmes Day is set for Tuesday, Jan. 21, when the Falcons take on Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. inside the Stroh Center.
Along with posters being distributed at the game, Holmes will be recognized at halftime. A pregame youth basketball clinic is also scheduled for 6 p.m. on Jan. 21, with registration details to follow at bgsufalcons.com. Holmes and the Kings will be taking on the Pistons in Detroit the following day at 7 p.m.
Holmes is in his fifth season in the NBA, and is currently experiencing a breakout year in Sacramento. His 66.6 percent field goal percentage ranks third in the league. Holmes is averaging 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds, and has started 31 of the Kings' 35 games in 2019-20.
As a senior in 2014-15, the former Falcon was named the MAC's Defensive Player of the Year. Holmes averaged 14.7 points and 8.0 rebounds en route to earning First Team All-Mac honors.
The native of Lockport, Illinois is the only player in BGSU men's basketball history to post 1,000 career points, 600 career rebounds and 200 career blocks. Holmes is BGSU's all-time career blocks leader with 244 career rejections. He holds the BGSU single season blocks record with 88 blocks in 2013-14.
