DIRECTIONS
The quickest way to the Stroh Center is via Interstate 75. Take exit 181 off of I-75 and head west (toward Perry Stadium) on Wooster Street. You will pass the Stroh Center on your right as you proceed to the second traffic light (Mercer Road) and turn right. Turn right on the next street (Alumni Drive) and continue to the Stroh Center parking lot. Turn right at the first entrance to the Stroh.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS IN THE STROH CENTER
All media and fans in attendance -- including radio and TV/web-stream announcers -- are expected to wear a mask which covers the nose and mouth throughout their time in the Stroh Center, except when eating or drinking. Please observe social distancing of at least six feet whenever possible. For the protection of all, please do not come to the game if you are not feeling well. Â
CREDENTIALS
Members of the media will need to request credentials on a game-by-game basis – no season passes will be issued for the 2020-21 season. Press and photo credentials for Falcon basketball home games MUST BE REQUESTED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. Seating is limited to working press only. Requests should be directed to Mike Cihon (mjcihon@bgsu.edu). On game day, credentials can be picked up at the media will-call entrance at the loading dock area on the west side of the Stroh Center.
PARKING
Parking passes will not be issued in 2020-21. If there is an attendant at the entrance to the lot, the names of accredited media will be included on a parking list. Media are encouraged to park in the Stroh Center parking lot, just off of Alumni Drive. Parking in the loading dock is strictly prohibited without prior permission from the Stroh Center staff. Even then, parking in the loading dock area will only be permitted briefly, in special circumstances (for example, a radio station needing to drop off equipment several hours prior to tipoff). There is no charge for parking for the media.Â
MEDIA ENTRANCE & SEATING
As mentioned above, credentials can be picked up at the media will-call entrance at the loading dock area on the west side of the Stroh Center. Upon entrance to the arena, media members will be given a temperature check & will receive their credentials. Upon completion of this process, media members will enter the arena in the Northwest corner. Media seating will be straight ahead, on the north side of the arena (across from the team benches). DUE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS, MEDIA MEMBERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ARENA. In some cases, media members may be assigned to sit in the stands.
PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER SEATING
Photographers will be permitted to shoot from the photo boxes along each end line. Photographers are asked to observe social distancing as much as possible. As mentioned, DUE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS, MEDIA MEMBERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ARENA OR WITHIN SIX FEET OF PLAYERS DURING LINEUP/INTRODUCTIONS OR TEAM HUDDLES. In some cases, media members may be assigned to sit in the stands.
PRESS ROW SERVICES -- DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS/STATISTICS
The Stroh Center press row will be mostly paperless in 2020-21. A roster sheet containing the rosters for both teams WILL be available. All other information previously printed will be available online at BGSUFalcons.com.
NO MEDIA ROOM ACCESS
The Stroh Center media room will not be available for members of the working media in 2020-21. Photographers and videographers looking for an area to work may use the excess media seating on the north side of the arena (second row – across from the team benches). If this area is full, you may be directed to a seat in the stands/bleachers.
WIRELESS INTERNET
The Stroh Center has wireless internet access for all members of the working media. Contact a member of the BGSU Strategic Communications staff for information to access the hidden network.
LIVE STATISTICS
Live statistics will be available on BGSUFalcons.com. For all in-game statistical updates, please use BGSU's live stats.Â
POST-GAME INTERVIEWS
Post-game interviews for each team will be conducted virtually in 2020-21. BGSU Head Coach Robyn Fralick and selected players will be available on a Zoom call beginning approximately 10-15 minutes after the conclusion of the game. A link to the virtual press conference will be provided via e-mail for all requesting media. BGSU's interviews will be recorded and posted on BGSUFalcons.com. To gain access to the Zoom press conference, please contact Mike Cihon (mjcihon@bgsu.edu). For interviews with the visiting team players and coach, members of the media are asked to contact that team's SID. Working members of the media do not need to physically be at the game to participate in the post-game press conference.Â
INTERVIEWS (NON-GAME DAY)
All interviews with players and coaches should be arranged through Mike Cihon in the BGSU Strategic Communications office. Please allow AT LEAST 24 HOURS (longer, if possible) to set up interviews. In 2020-21, IT IS VERY UNLIKELY that in-person interviews will be conducted. If at all possible, interviews will be conducted by phone or virtually (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). Phone numbers for student-athletes will not be made available. Student-athletes will not be asked to miss class for any interviews or media opportunities. Arrangements will be made for interviews at a mutually-agreeable time.
VISITING RADIO
Requests for permission to broadcast must be made to Mike Cihon (mjcihon@bgsu.edu) at least one week prior to the game. The official station of the visiting school will be located on press row on the north sideline at court level, across from the visiting team's bench. Any ancillary visiting radio stations will be located on the north side of the Stroh Center on the concourse (upper) level. There is space for only one station from the visiting team.
