Andrews Wins Two Individual Events & BGSU Sweeps Diving Events in Muncie as Well
Senior Maddy Andrews and junior Daisy Platts each captured two individual events on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 7), as the Bowling Green State University swim and dive team opened the 2020-21 season in Muncie, Ind. Host Ball State University won the meet by a 172-127 final.
Platts not only won two individual races, but set a pair of pool records as well.
Andrews was victorious in both the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Free, while Platts won the 100 and 200 Backstroke events. Platts set a new Lewellen Pool record in the 100 Back, breaking the old mark by three-quarters of a second, and she shattered the old pool record in the 200 Back by nearly three seconds.
BGSU swept both diving events as well, with junior Kylie Mosset winning on the 3-Meter board and freshman Zoe Smith capturing the 1-Meter event.
Platts and Andrews each were a part of three event victories on Saturday, as they teamed with junior Anna Eriksson and senior Shaunna Jones to win the 400 Free Relay.
Eriksson finished second in both the 50 Free and 100 Free races, while senior Lauren Sullivan posted second-place finishes in both the 100 and 200 Back.
