BGVB Inks Katrin Trebichavska To NLI To Complete Incoming Class

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball program announced the signing of Katrin Trebichavska on Thursday (July 16). Trebichavska will be one of six freshmen this coming season for the Falcons, joining a group that was previously announced. The full release for the rest of the incoming class can be found HERE.

"We are thrilled to complete our 2020 class with addition of Katrin and cannot wait for her to join us in Bowling Green!" said Coach Tomic. "Katrin's powerful arm swing, serve and competitive spirit is something that will add another dimension to our system of play, especially to our offense. She is driven to be the best that she can be, has high aspirations and we hope to help her achieve those in the next four years"

Coming from Nove Mesto nad Vahom, Slovakia, Trebichavska brings a long list of success and accomplishments. Individually, Trebichavska was named the MVP of the 2019 BVK-Pezinok match as well as the MVP of the 2017 volleyball tournament in Poland. Away from the court she competed in weightlifting as well, becoming a five-time Slovak champion between 2010-2020.

Trebichavska was also part of winning traditions on multiple teams. Most recently, she was a member of the 2020 Slovak Cup Champions after being finalists for the 2019 Slovak Cup. In 2019, Trebichavska's team was also a finalist in the 2019 Slovak Under-20 Beach Volleyball Championship. Additionally, in 2018 she was a member of the Slovakian Under-20 team that competed at the European Championship in Albany.

The daughter of Jan and Iveta Trebichavska, Katrin has one brother, Jan Marek. Her father also competed in Olympic weightlifting. Trebichavska is currently undecided on a major, but has career aspirations to become one of the best outside hitters in Europe and play professionally in Italy.
