BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team was defeated by Ball State University on Tuesday (Jan. 12) night inside the Stroh Center by a score of 88-64. BGSU drops to 9-3 (5-1 MAC) with the loss. Ball State improves to 5-5 (3-2 MAC) with the victory.
The Cardinals had six players in double figures scoring, led by 20 from guard Ishmael El-Amin. Ball State shot 55.4 percent (31-of-56) as a team while holding the Falcons to 21-of-54 (38.9 percent) shooting for the contest.
Bowling Green was led by 18 points from fifth-year senior Justin Turner. Turner suprassed Howard Komives (1961-64 | 1,834 points) on the evening for third place on BGSU's all-time scoring list. The native of Detroit has now scored 1,843 points in 105 career games in the Orange and Brown. Junior center Jacob Washington added a career-high nine points in the loss.
The Falcons will play at the University at Buffalo on Friday (Jan. 15) night at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live in front of a national audience on CBS Sports Network.
