Falcons Fall To No. 17 Ohio State In Overtime

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (8-6-3, 6-5-1-0) fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-6-0, 6-4-0), by a 4-3 score in overtime. The Falcons scored the game's first three goals, but Ohio State answered with three goals in the final regulation period. The Buckeyes netted the golden goal early in the overtime period to take the victory.

Scoring Plays
- Nathan Burke started the scoring with six minutes left in the first period, batting in his rebound after taking the puck nearly the entire length of the ice. Garrett Daly, who forced the OSU turnover, was credited with the lone assist.
- Bowling Green extended its lead less than four minutes later with a Seth Fyten goal. Fyten flicked in a shot from the left of the crease after a pair of nifty passes from Spencer Schneider and Adam Pitters, who each earned an assist.
- The Falcon lead stretched to 3-0 in the second period after a goal by Alex Barber. The captain found the back of the net after gathering the puck on a Garrett Daly pass. Daly and Austen Swankler earned the assists.
- Ohio State cut into the lead with a power play goal in the early minutes of the third period. Will Riedell scored on a rebound, with the assist going to Grant Gabriele.
- Just over a minute later, the Buckeyes scored again, with Jake Wise slotting the puck from the right side. Cole McWard was credited with the lone assist.
- With a little over two minutes remaining, Georgii Merkulov tied the game with a rebound score. Jake Wise and Quinn Preston earned the assists.
- Gustaf Westlund scored the golden goal in overtime, giving the Buckeyes the win. Dominic Vidoli was credited with the assist.

- Nathan Burke extended his team lead in goals to ten. The senior has 23 goals in his collegiate career.
- Alex Barber scored his seventh goal of the year, pushing his point total to 16. The captain has scored 32 goals and tallied 76 points in his career.
- Garrett Daly notched his first two assists of the season, marking the first multi-point effort of his career. The junior has six career assists and seven career points.
- Austen Swankler recorded his 12th assist of the season, tying him with Gabriel Chicoine for the team lead. Swankler leads the Falcons with 19 points on the season.
- Seth Fyten scored his second goal of the season and seventh of his career.
- Adam Pitters tallied his second assist of the season, giving him nine career points.
- Spencer Schneider earned the first assist of his collegiate career, giving him two career points.
- Christian Stoever spent the entire game in net, collecting 22 saves.
