In the 1-meter dive Friday, Kylie Mosset placed sixth out of 21 divers with a score of 271.55 in prelims and then 280.85 in the finals. It should be noted as well that she had the highest diving difficulty (15.1) out of all 21 divers. Grace Ellis was the next closest Falcon with a score of 255.80 in the prelims and then 275.90 in finals. Zoe Smith finished close behind with a score of 253.20. Mosset and Ellis both earned NCAA Division I zone qualifying scores with the performances.
The 3-meter diving competition concluded Saturday. Mosset was once again Bowling Green's top place-finisher. She finished eighth out of 23 divers with a score of 277.80 with a diving difficulty of 15.10. Next up was Zoe Smith, who placed tenth and had an impressive diving difficulty of 16.00. Her final score was 264.25.
"What a triumph for our freshmen," Diving Coach Tricia Grant said. "Knowing they can hold their own and place in the top 16 against the giants of the MAC is exciting and inspiring. Our junior diver Kylie Mosset, who we call 'Old Reliable', finished in the top eight in both prelim events, setting the stage for a knockout performance at the MAC Championships this year."
Bowling Green's next meet will be at Eastern Michigan Friday and Saturday. Toledo will also compete at the meet.
