Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Medical Mutual Athletes of the Week, as selected by the strategic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are soccer player Logan Kowalczyk and swimmer Daisy Platts.

Male Athlete of the Week
Logan Kowalczyk, a sophomore from Pinckney, Mich. had a 2-0-0 record and a goals-against average of 0.00 last week, as the Falcons posted a pair of 1-0 wins on the road. Kowalczyk made three saves in a Wednesday victory at West Virginia, then had three more stops in a Sunday-afternoon win at Northern Illinois. On the season, Kowalczyk has a GAA of 0.71. In MAC matches, he has a record of 3-1-0 and a GAA of just 0.49, with three shutouts In four conference contests.

Female Athlete of the Week

Daisy Platts, a junior from Leicester, U.K., swam in two events at the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving National Championships, breaking a school record and easily exceeding her seed position in each. She opened the meet by breaking the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.65 seconds, surpassing her own school record time of 52.87 seconds. Seeded No. 37 entering the meet, she placed 21st. The next day, Platts swam the 200 backstroke in 1:54.75. She entered as the No. 36 seed but placed 24th overall,
