BGSU Student-Athletes Achieve 91 percent Graduation Success Rate in Latest NCAA Report

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University student-athletes continue to excel academically, posting a 91% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for students that entered college in 2018, according to the 2025 NCAA Graduation Success Rate report recently released.
BGSU once again demonstrated a strong commitment to academic achievement across its athletics programs, with 11 teams earning a perfect 100 percent GSR. These programs include:

Nationally, Division I student-athletes continue to reach historically high academic benchmarks. The single-year and four-year national GSR rates remain at 90%, underscoring the strong academic culture within college athletics.
The NCAA created the Graduation Success Rate in 2002 to reflect student-athlete academic outcomes more accurately. Unlike the federal graduation rate, the GSR:
The NCAA notes that while student-athlete graduation success rates remain high, deeper analysis and data forecasting indicate that the additional flexibility in rules governing competition after transfer could impact graduation rates in the future. BGSU remains committed to supporting the academic achievement of all student-athletes through comprehensive advising, resources, and holistic support that empower Falcons to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and beyond graduation.
