Swingle And Turner Earn Academic All-MAC Recognition

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two members of the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, Dylan Swingle and Chandler Turner, have been named to the 2020-21 Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team. The league office announced the news on Wednesday (April 14) morning.
The pair of Falcons become the first players from Bowling Green to earn the honor since Jeff Uju in 2018. Additionally, BGSU placed two student-athletes on the MAC's Academic All-MAC squad for the first time since 2010 (Joe Jakubowski & Marc Larson).
Swingle, a sport management major with a GPA of 3.289, made 22 starts in 2020-21 for the Orange and Brown. Swingle averaged 4.0 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting a team-high 51.3 percent from the field. The native of Chillicothe, Ohio scored a career-high 14 points in a road win at Ohio in late December. Swingle closed the season averaging 6.0 points on 68.8 percent (11-of-16) shooting over Bowling Green's final four contests.
Turner appeared in 23 games for Bowling Green, contributing in a number of different ways with his length and versatility. Turner, a psychology major with a 3.315 GPA, had a career night in BGSU's quarterfinal game in the MAC Tournament. The native of Detroit tied a career high with 12 points and set a career high with eight rebounds. Another notable performance for Turner this season was a four-point, seven-rebound effort versus Kent State in February.
