Platts Three-Peats As MAC Champion In 200 Backstroke

Ypsilanti, Mich. – Junior Daisy Platts won her third consecutive MAC Championship in the 200 backstroke, breaking the school record and earning her second championship of the weekend. As a team, the Bowling Green swim/dive team finished eighth at the MAC Championships.
Buffalo edged out Akron for the MAC Championship, scoring 773 points to the Zips' 766. Miami (Ohio) was third, followed by Ohio, Ball State and Eastern Michigan. Toledo was seventh, just ahead of BGSU.

PLATTS AGAIN DOMINATES IN THE BACKSTROKE
- Daisy Platts continued to dominate the MAC in the 200 backstroke, breaking her own school record with a time of 1:53.67.
- It marks the second consecutive year that Platts won both the 100 and 200 backstroke at the MAC Championships. She also won the 200 backstroke as a freshman in 2019.
- Platts was named First Team All-MAC for the third consecutive season with the performance.
OTHER NOTABLE RESULTS
- Lauren Sullivan also posted a strong performance in the 200 backstroke, finishing seventh overall with a time of 2:01.75.
- In 3-meter diving, BGSU posted three top-15 performances. Rayah Blood was 10th with 252.30 points, followed by Grace Ellis in 12th at 239.80 and Kylie Mosset in 15th at 214.35.
- Livia Castro placed 11th in the longest event of the meet, the 1650 freestyle. She swam a time of 17:06.21.
- Taylor Harris was 12th in the 200 breaststroke in 2:19.27.
- Ava Vial finished 14th in the 200 butterfly at 2:03.26.
- Kellie House swam the 1650 freestyle in 17:14.22 to place 15th.
