Falcons Conclude Season, Compete Against RedHawks Sunday

OXFORD, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program concluded their regular season on Sunday (May 2) by traveling to Oxford, Ohio to oppose the Miami RedHawks. The Falcons were able to tally three singles wins, but came up short on the day with a 4-3 final score. With the loss, Bowling Green closes out the season with a 13-7 record while being 9-5 within the Mid-American Conference, being third place in the standings. The third place finish is the best for the Falcons since they tied for third at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Making Of The Match
- The Falcons tallied three points on the day, all coming from singles play. At No. 4 singles, Selina Karg tallied one of two comeback victories for the Orange and Brown on the day. After falling short in the first set, Karg won the second set in extra points before taking the third set 6-1 for the point. The win marked Karg's 18th singles win of the season and team-high 29th overall for the year.
- Yulia Kapitanova also accomplished a comeback win for the Falcons. After coming up just shy in extra points during the first set, Kapitanova won the second, which also went into extra points. As for the third set, Kapitanova snagged a 10-7 score to secure the win.
- Bowling Green also saw Marta Bettinelli capture a singles win on the day, winning in straight sets at No. 6 singles. Bettinelli won the first set 6-4 before clinching the win with a 6-1 score in the second set.
