Sophomore was involved in the scoring of both game-winning goals last week
Bowling Green State University men's soccer standout Kyle Cusimano has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week. The online site made the announcement on Tuesday morning (Sept. 28).
Cusimano, a native of Bay Village, Ohio (Bay), was involved in the scoring of both game-winning goals as the Falcons went 2-0 last week. Cusimano had an assist on a goal by Roberto Fernandez Garrido, opening the scoring in last Tuesday's (Sept. 21) 2-0 win over Detroit Mercy.
Then, Cusimano scored what proved to be the winning goal in the Falcons' 2-1 victory at Canisius on Friday (Sept. 24). Both goals came in the 28th minute of their respective matches.
The Falcons, currently ranked No. 17 in the nation, have now won four consecutive matches. Cusimano is tied for the team scoring lead with nine points, on two goals and a BG-best five assists.
BGSU is 7-1-1 on the season, with the only loss coming against defending national champion Marshall. The Falcons head to Columbus for a Wednesday (Sept. 29) matchup with Ohio State. First touch is set for 7:00 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
