October 24, 2022 | Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green punter Sami Sir was named Mid-American Conference East Special Teams Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, Oct. 23. It is the first career weekly accolade for Sir.
Sir (Fr., Melbourne, Australia) helped flip the field for the Falcons all game against Central Michigan. Three of Sir's six punts (42.2 avg.) pinned CMU inside its own 10-yard line. A fourth punt was looked to be downed inside the five-yard line before the coverage team contacted the ball and brought it into end zone for a touchback. Perfectly hung a punt that the coverage team forced a fumble that BGSU recovered and scored a field goal from.
Bowling Green returns to action on Wed., Nov. 2 against Western Michigan at Doyt Perry Stadium. The game will kick off
