BGVB Seeks MAC Title In Regular Season Finale
November 15, 2022 | Volleyball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball program will close out the regular season on Wednesday (Nov. 16) against the Miami RedHawks. The regular season finale is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. first serve at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
The Falcons enter the match with an opportunity to clinch at least a share of the MAC Regular Season title. A BGSU win would secure at least Co-Champions while a win paired with a Ball State loss would result in being outright Champions of the regular season. If the Falcons are outright champions, Bowling Green would host the MAC Tournament. If BGSU and Ball State are Co-Champions, then the Cardinals would serve as the tournament hosts. Ball State hosts Toledo on Wednesday (Nov. 16) at 6:00 p.m.
The all-time series between the Falcons and RedHawks leans to Miami with a 51-39 record in the series, however BGSU has won 10 of the last 11 matches. The Falcons won the match earlier this season, being played on Oct. 19, by a score of 3-0. BGSU has also won two of the last three matches played in Oxford with Miami's last win in the series being at home on Oct. 10, 2019. The two teams first met on Oct. 9, 1976 with the Falcons capturing a 2-0 win.
Monitoring Miami (OH)
The Miami RedHawks will enter Wednesday's regular season finale with a 7-21 record on the season while being 2-15 within the Mid-American Conference. The lone win over the last 15 matches for the RedHawks came via a 3-0 final over Akron last Friday (Nov. 11). Of the 14 losses over that span, Miami has been swept 10 times, including a meeting with the Falcons earlier this season on Oct. 19. When playing at home this season, the RedHawks have compiled a 2-10 record.
